A multilingual website: customers abroad search in their own language

A buyer in Germany will not type the Polish name of your service into Google. They search in German, in the German version of the search engine, and compare companies that speak to them in their language. If your site only has a Polish version, or an English one produced by an automatic translator, you simply do not appear in those results.

A row of flags in the corner will not change that. Each language version needs its own addresses, copy written for customers in that market and tags that tell Google which version to show to whom. We build this kind of site as part of our business websites offer, either in several languages from the start or as an extension of the site you already have.

Who a website in several languages is for

A second language pays off when you have customers or partners who look for you in another language. If you run a hotel or a transport company, see our industry websites too, laid out around how guests and shippers decide; we add language versions to them in the same way. We most often build multilingual sites for:

  • Manufacturers and exporters looking for buyers abroad

  • Service companies with customers from other countries, for example in tourism, logistics or IT

  • Companies entering one specific market, such as Germany, Czechia or Ukraine

  • Companies with teams or branches in several countries

How we build a multilingual website for SEO

We settle the technical setup at the start, because changing the address structure after launch is expensive. We use the same approach this website runs on:

  • Separate addresses for each language, such as /pl/ and /en/, instead of swapping text at the same address

  • Translated page names in the addresses, so the English version carries English keywords

  • Hreflang tags and canonical addresses, from which Google reads which version is for whom

  • Separate titles, descriptions and structured data for each version

  • A language switch that takes you to the same page in the other language, not back to the home page

Each language has its own addresses, copy and metadata, all managed in one panel.

One panel for every language

Content for every version lives in one headless panel, Sanity or Storyblok. The translations of each page are linked, so you see at once what is missing in a given language and do not have to look after several separate sites. We set up the panel through build and code and build the site in Astro or Next.js.

The design, drawn through our design that sells service, allows for different text lengths from the start. German words can be much longer than Polish ones, so a headline that fits on one line in English may take two in German. We check this on real copy before you approve the design.

Tracking is set up separately for each version through SEO and analytics, so Search Console and analytics show which countries your traffic comes from and for which keywords.

Translating the content: who does it

Copy translated word for word rarely sells. A customer abroad has different questions and searches differently, so the content has to reflect their keywords, currency, units and preferred way of getting in touch. You have two options:

  • Your own translations

you prepare them yourself or with a trusted translator, and we put them into the panel and check how they look on the site

  • Translation in the quote

we add it as a separate item and make sure the key phrases match what customers search for in that country

  • Either way, the scope covers forms, confirmation messages, emails and the footer, so nothing is left in Polish

How much does a multilingual website cost and how long does it take?

A company website in two languages costs from PLN 6,000 net. The price depends on the number of pages, the number of languages and who prepares the translations. Each further language takes less work than the first, because the structure and design already exist, but every version still has to be entered, checked and prepared for search.

Each further language costs from PLN 1,500 net. Adding a language to an existing site is priced after we review it. If your current site cannot sensibly take a version with its own addresses, we will suggest a website redesign combined with the new language, so you do not pay twice.

Delivery usually takes 4–8 weeks, and the timeline depends most on when the translations are ready. You get a free quote with a written scope and schedule within 48 hours of the call. Translations, copywriting and other extras with their prices are in our pricing.

After launch: new languages, new markets and ongoing care

The code, content, domain and accounts belong to you. After launch you get the access, a panel walkthrough and documentation, and for 30 days from acceptance we fix bugs in our code free of charge. You can add further languages and pages with us through support and growth, or yourself in the panel.

If you want to sell abroad, the same language structure works for an online store. Tell us in the contact form which markets you want to enter and how many pages the site should have. We reply by the end of the next working day, and Kacper Baranowski runs the project personally from the first call to launch.

Questions about this offer

Your situation not here?

Describe it in a few sentences. We reply with specifics, a few questions to narrow things down, and a time for a call.

How much does a multilingual website cost?

A company website in two languages costs from PLN 6,000 net. The price depends on the number of pages, the number of languages and who prepares the translations. Each further language costs from PLN 1,500 net. Adding a language to an existing site is priced after we review it. You get a free quote with the scope within 48 hours of the call.

Do you translate the content?

We can add translation to the quote as a separate item. You can also supply your own copy, prepared yourself or with a translator; we then put it into the panel and check how it looks on the site. Either way, we take care of translated titles, descriptions and page addresses.

How does Google recognise the language versions of a site?

By the separate addresses for each language and the hreflang tags that show a page has an equivalent in another language. Each version also has its own metadata, canonical address and sitemap entries. That way a customer in Germany sees the German version in the results and a customer in Poland sees the Polish one.

Can I add a language to my current website?

Often yes, but it depends on what the site is built on; we check this on the intro call. If the current system cannot add a language with its own addresses and hreflang, we suggest a rebuild together with the new language, so you do not pay twice.

Do all language versions need the same pages?

No. The version for customers abroad can be shorter and focus on the services you sell there. The panel shows which pages have translations, and we set hreflang tags only where an equivalent exists.

How long does it take to build a multilingual website?

Usually 4–8 weeks from an approved brief. Translations matter most: if the copy in every language is ready by the coding stage, we stay at the lower end. You get a schedule with stage dates together with the quote.
